I recently went to Singapore and have gone crazy for the beauty products. The country has stepped up their game on providing beauty products to shoppers. They really have many choices of products, from high end, drugstore, to Korean. It is truly a shoppers’ paradise. I can even spend two hours only in Guardian, and more hours in Sephora alone. A visit to every drugstore in Singapore is a must for me. It is just because they carried different brands and products from one another. Sometimes a product is sold out in one drugstore and available in another one. So, without further ado, here’s the haul that I managed to snag in Singapore.
1. Lux Luminique Non-Silicone Airy Style Shampoo
A friend of mine who lives in Singapore recommends this to me. I don’t even know that Lux produces hair products. All I know is that Lux only has soaps in Indonesia. My friend says that it is the best shampoo because it is silicone free. The product itself cost 9.90 SGD in Japanese retail store called Dondon: Donki, which is located in Orchard Gateway. It is in a more expensive side for a shampoo, compared to those available in Indonesia. Many shampoo in Indonesia costs less than 30.000 IDR. But, the price don’t let me down because it has a good amount of products. Plus, the packaging is also cute and very convenient.
2. Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner Superkeep #02 Bitter Brown
Woow.. That was a long name for an eyeliner. I bought it because I needed a brown eyeliner to make an everyday softer look, but still defining my eyes. I already had the black one. Since it is good, so I decided to purchase the brown. Similar to the shampoo mentioned above, I bought it in Dondon: Donki for 18.9 SGD. The product claimed to be water-proof and smudge-proof but can be easily removed using lukewarm water. Is it that good?
3. Crystal Body Deodorant Stick
I found it by accident in Selectiv by Sasa when I was waiting for my husband. I knew this brand because some online store in Indonesia sell it. However, I don’t know if it was good. I purchased it anyway because it was only 3.9 SGD. I prefer the small size for the sake of travel convenient. The deodorant is made of natural mineral salts. Because it contains only natural ingredients, it is safe for environment, and moreover, it will not trigger breast cancer. The deodorant itself indeed looks like a crystal stone shape into the form of deodorant to make it less abrasive. It says that I have to moisten the stone before putting it to skin.
4. Lady Speed Stick
This is actually my holy grail deodorant. It really has 24 hour protection (or even more) against odor and sweats. It also doesn’t stain my shirt, which is a really plus point. Some supermarket in Indonesia actually carry this brand, but it is very hard to find. That is why when I saw these in Fairprice Ngee Ann City for 4 SGD, I did not think twice and purchased two. There are several options of scents. Here I chose Invisible Dry Powder Fresh and Orchard Blossom. The later is new to me. I usually use the powder fresh one and wild freesia. All of them have a really refreshing scent.
5. Maybelline The Powder Mattes in Barely There
I impulsively purchased this on Guardian Plus Ngee Ann City because it was on sale for 12 SGD, when in fact Guardian Indonesia has similar product. I kinda regret it after I paid for it. I was attracted to it because I don’t have any lipstick in this color. It is a beautiful dusty pink. Usually this color is hard to pull off. Many brands offering this color fail me because they tend to be patchy. With this Maybelline one, I have to slough off those dry lips first because it will emphasize them. The color is as good as I thought, but it is more suitable for a full glam makeup. It is too pale for an everyday wear.
6. Essence Satin Touch Blush in 20 Satin Love
Can you guess why I bought this blush? It is because my favorite beauty Youtuber ever, Kathleen Lights, loves it. She said that it is one of the prettiest blush, and I cannot agree more. The color seems boring, but it is very beautiful once you applied it on your cheek. It has a slight sheen but it does not emphasize texture on my skin. The price is also very affordable. It costs only 4.90 SGD in Guardian.
7. Essence Long Lasting Lip Liner
Many Youtubers said that Essence has a good yet affordable lip liner. In search of a good one, I didn’t hesitate to purchase it. It costs only 2.90 in both Watsons and Guardian. I even got 20 percent off. That makes it the cheapest lip liner I have ever bought. Here I purchased the only selection for nude, which are number 05 and 08. I didn’t purchase bold color since I rarely wear one.
8. Maybelline Lash Sensational
I have been searching for this mascara in Indonesia but haven’t found it. That is why I purchased it during my first encounter in Watsons Singapore. It was having 20 percent off from 21.90 SGD. For me, it is quiet pricey for a drugstore mascara. However, many people said that it was great. I have to try it since I haven’t found holy grail mascara.
9. COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch
I have been loving COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch. It soaked up the gunk in my acne in one night. I am sad because I almost run out of it. I also cannot find it in every Guardian I visited in Singapore. Instead, I found this COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch. The price is similar to the one I love, which is 4.95 SGD. However, does it provide similar result? I haven’t tried, but let’s see.
10. COSRX One Step Original Clear Pad
My holy grail COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pad has changed its name to One Step Original Clear Pad. Luckily, they did not change the formula. I almost run out of mine. I am so glad that Guardian Singapore now sells CORSX products with real Korean price. I mean, they don’t jack up the price. This COSRX One Step Original Clear Pad costs me 20.60 SGD, which is pretty similar to its price in Korea.
11. Simple Cleansing Wipes
Here comes the product that I bought during the queue to the cashier. Guardian Singapore offers travel size products in the racks near the queue, so similar to what Sephora does. I just could not resist to look at them. This is the biggest temptation in every Sephora or Guardian store. This Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes is the first product that I snagged from the rack. Since I forgot to bring my facial wipes to Singapore, I had to buy one, right? The one that I bought is the smallest which contains only 7 wipes. It is a nice scentless wipes that doesn’t sting on my eyes and gentle on skin. However, it cannot remove waterproof mascara.
12. Oxy 5 Acne Pimple Medication
I bought Oxy 5 Acne Pimple Medication as a precaution. I usually get an acne every time I go to somewhere humid. But I guess it is just a justification for buying this product during queue. Anyway, I haven’t tried Oxy products before, but I knew it from some online stores in Indonesia. I also read some reviews saying that it is a good product to get rid off acne. I think it is worth a shot! It is also very cheap. The small size costs me 3.6 SGD in Watsons.
13. Skin Aqua UV Watery Essence SPF 50
Since I almost run out of my travel-size sunblock, I have to buy a back up right? This is just perfect. I found the small size of Skin Aqua UV Protection containing 10 gram of products in Watsons for only 2 SGD. Even more, it was on 20 percent discount. So the price is only 1.60 SGD. That is the cheapest product that I bought during this trip to Singapore. I have tried some of the Skin Aqua range before and I like it.
14. It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye
I am currently searching for concealer that does not settle into my fine lines even though I don’t set it with powder. I previously loved The Saem Tip Concealer, but now the concealer is going creasing so bad on me. Maybe it is because I am getting older. Anyway, I purchased this It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye because it has travel-size for only 18 SGD in Sephora. It contains only 3.25 ml of products, but since the product is really high coverage, I just really need a dot to cover both (I said BOTH) of my under eye. This is such a powerful concealer, I think I am gonna like it.
15. Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
It is such a shame that I haven’t tried this setting spray before. This is a holy grail for almost all of famous beauty Youtubers. I purchased the small one for 22 SGD in Sephora to try whether I like it or not. If I like it, I think I will buy the big size. I tried it once upon opening the box. I think I like it because it makes my make up looks more natural. It makes everything blend into my skin perfectly. However, I still don’t know if it makes my make up lasts longer.
16. Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray
I have fallen in love to Ouai products after I tried Ouai Wave Spray. Since then, I wanted to try every product that Jen Atkins made. However, everything is just very pricey, but I won’t give up. I decided to buy the travel size first before committing to big one. This Ouai Texturizing Hair Spray is the one that I wanted to try for so long. I purchased this of course in Sephora for 18 SGD. It says that it is like a baby of dry shampoo and hairspray! What can I ask for more if it’s true?
17. Ouai Dry Shampoo Foam
The last time I went for Singapore in November, I couldn’t find this product in Sephora Singapore. So when I found it in Sephora Ngee Ann City, I immediately threw it in my shopping bag. The price is also 18 SGD, similar to Ouai product mentioned above. I wanted to try it because a beauty Youtuber named Tati said that it is a great dry shampoo. It is not like any other dry shampoo because it is in the form of foam. It looks like a styling mousse, but it does not make my hair crunch. I have to try it more to find out whether I like it or not.
