The era of matte lipstick, I guess, will be over soon. Many brands are currently releasing other kinds of finish that much more comfortable, such as satin. That is including Viva. This Indonesian brand is releasing Viva Queen Perfect Shine Lip Color. It is a counterpart of Viva Queen Perfect Matte Lip Color, which was released first. As any other Viva products, this lipstick is also very affordable. It costs only IDR 34.000 for 2.5 gr. I purchased it on official Viva Cosmetics website. Have you tried this lipstick? Wonder how I feel about it? Keep on reading to find out.
Packaging

Compared to older Viva Queen lipsticks, I prefer this packaging. It is very simple but not cheapy. The packaging is indeed made from plastic, but it seems sturdy. I hate flimsy packaging like Wet and Wild Megalast Lipstick in which cap always unattached by themselves. At a glance, the Viva Queen Perfect Shine packaging looks like Purbasari Matte lipstick. It is black and slim. I guess this kind of packaging is very mainstream for Indonesian brand. Viva Queen Perfect Matte Lip Color also has this packaging, but in matte black. This one, similar to its name, has shiny black packaging.
Ingredients

Shade Range
Seeing on its website, Viva offers 10 shades for this Viva Queen Perfect Shine. It ranges from nude, brown, orange, red, berry, to mahogany. I only purchased three, which represent the nude, the berry, and the deep shade. The shades that I purchased are 201 Honey Peach, 205 Pink Cerise, and 209 Mahogany.

Swatches

201 Honey Peach
201 Honey Peach is peachy nude color. It really looks good on swatch, but it looks bad on my lips. I thought it would be more nude, but on me it looks bright peach, which is really not my cup of tea. To make it more wearable, I like to blot my lips with a tissue so that it is less shiny.

205 Pink Cerise
205 Pink Cerise is pinky fuschia. Surprisingly, as a nude lover, I love this color. But, I love wearing this only in the inner lips like Korean girls do. This is a nice substitute for a lip tint.

209 Mahogany
209 Mahogany is deep brownish red. This is most pigmented of all three. One swipe will cover your lips like nobody’s business. It goes on very opaque, but it is hard to control. This is the least color that I like.

Formula
This lipstick has a really shiny finish. It seems like I put on a gloss rather than a lipstick. They are also not transfer-proof. However, the formula is a bit inconsistent. The 201 Honey Peach is the driest of all three that I tried. You need to exfoliate your lips before putting on this color. Otherwise, it emphasizes every bits of flaky dry lips underneath. The color 205 Pink Cerise is the most comfortable amongst all. It does not dry out my lips. I also kinda like the stain it gives to my lips. It looks like I put on lip tint. Lastly, 209 Mahogany is the creamiest of all three. It literally feels like I put on liquified lipstick on my lips. But, this color is a bit hard to control. The color is bleeding out of my lips. This lipstick goes on everywhere after a meal. It transfers to my chin and around my mouth. It is so horrible. I look like I have eaten a baby.
At last, I am still a nude matte lip person at heart. This Viva Queen Perfect Shine Lip Color is not my favorite. I rate this lipstick 2.5 out of 5. I haven’t tried the matte one, but I think I would like them more. So, what do you think about this lipstick. Please leave a comment down below..
